BYU Women's Football Clinic

Josh is an avid BYU football fan. I had watched a few BYU football games myself before I met him, but it wasn't until after Josh and I were engaged and Josh took the time and patience to explain the game that I really started to enjoy watching football. I will never forget watching John Beck throw the ball to Johnny Harline in the final seconds of the game two seasons ago for BYU to win against Utah. It was the most exciting game I have ever seen.

Women watch football differently than men though, and BYU has caught onto this. For the last 4 years they have held Women's Football clinic, and this year I was able to go. It is geared toward women and helping us get excited about the football season in our own way.

It began with a football player lead tour. My tour guides were G Pittman and J. J. Di Luigi. We got to see the inside of the locker room, the press box, and other places around the stadium. Then we listened to Bronco and he answered questions. The players also answered questions, which was interesting, because I like knowing the details about the players and seeing them as real people, not just a number and a football helmet. One interesting detail was that Dennis Pitta and Max Hall recently became brothers-in-law, because Dennis just married Max's wife's sister. I like knowing things like where the players are from, why they came to BYU, and other fun things like that.

We then went to the field and they had six different little drills laid out. I participated in all of them! They included tackling the sled, learned different defensive poses, passing the ball, running with the ball, and other various football-type drills. The players and coaches administered the drills and it was surprisingly fun (I never was into athletics myself, I prefer to watch).

It was finished with a high-light video from last year and a goodie bag that contained this year's poster, the 2008 BYU Football guide, T-shirt, a football facts pamphlet, and a helmet sticker. Honestly, I loved it and I got some fun picture souvenieers!

And of course, Bronco, who was very, very nice. He had a line of people waiting to see him and he asked each person's name.

That is too funny...Women's Football Clinic :) Only at BYU. That's great that you enjoyed yourself. It is a lot more fun when you actually understand what is going on.
Josh has converted you to both MAC and BYU...booooo ;)

How cool is that??? Who even knew they had a Women's Football Clinic? Lucky you to get to go! Looks like it was lot of fun. I appreciate football (especially BYU football) much more since being married to Jon. We have to content ourselves with listening to the games online, though. Bummer.

A Couple of Updates

I haven't been very involved in the online world very much in the recent months. I haven't been feeling very well. I had mostly rejoined the feeling-better society and getting excited for the ultrasound which we had yesterday on January 15th. Yes, I am Pregnant!!! 20 weeks to be exact and I had gone to 4 doctors appointments and heard the heartbeat several times. Josh and I went to the ultrasound anxious to find out the gender, because we are planners of course. I got situated and the person doing the ultrasound put the wand on my belly and I looked up at the monitor and saw two circles. (I wish we had a picture of that, but we don't have that exact one) In my mind I said, "that is two heads." She said, "Oh, did you guys know you were having twins?" Josh turned, because he had not seen the two heads on the monitor yet and said, "Uh, no". And she said, "Well, you are!" Surprise. A few moments later we found out it was two girls. Wowza.

Josh Had a Birthday, Shout Hooray!

I am so lucky to have these two guys in my life! I hope you had a good birthday yesterday, Josh!

1st Half-Birthday

Logan sits up all by himself now, but he uses his hands like a little tripod for support. He is also able to roll from his back to his stomach, but he really doesn't like his stomach, so he has probably only rolled that way less than 10 times. Mostly when we tease him with toys or other such things. He is really laid back and happy and I just keep thinking I am the luckiest mom in the world! So Logan turned 6 months old on Sunday. The only real "celebration" we had was feeding him cereal for the first time. We did go to the park, but it took us too long to get ready, so on the stroller-ride over he fell asleep. Josh and I had a little picnic anyway. He did go to the Doctor yesterday and Dr. Clayton said he is doing just great. He said Logan is teething, which I thought, but still no teeth have poked up. He got his shots and he doesn't have to get anymore until his is one year! I was, of course, concerned about his weight gain, but Dr. Clayton told me not to w
