Dancing King

Logan loves music. He nods his head or waves his arms with any music he hears, and if he is on his feet he gets his whole body moving. He bends his little knees and altogether it is quite cute! So on Saturday we had him dance for the camera, he is watching Josh dance to help motivate him to perform.

Thoughts on Motherhood Again

For Mother's Day my grandma gave me a pamphlet by Lucile Johnson called Love that Never Ends Inspirational Thoughts for Mothers . I have been reading it (only 3 months later, reading gets put at the end of my "to do" list) and after Vhari and I were talking about motherhood again today, it made me think. I found a paragraph that I thought was particularly helpful. You were sent here into your mothering role and given the awesome responsibility for the physical, emotional, and spiritual welfare of your children without any experience or expertise. Why do you suppose that Heavenly Father has so decreed that we become parents without any previous experience? I think it is because He wants us to be on our knees where we need to be, seeking Him, pleading for patience and forbearance and understanding. Lately, I have been feeling that I need to focus more on having the Spirit. My life hasn't seen any major bumps or bruises recently. I forget to rely on the Lord, even

An Entire Year

Happy Birthday Blog!!! One year ago today I was looking at some blogs and decided to start my own. Logan was 3 months old and things were going well, I thought it would be fun. And here it is one year later, time really does go by fast! Stats: Number of Posts: 81 Average Post: Every 4-5 days Backdrop Changes: 6 or 7 Time invested: Too much :) I decided to make a little list of why I blog: 1. It is a convenient, user-friendly way to do basic journaling and allow friends and family to see pictures of our family, especially of Logan, because he grows so quickly. 2. It is a hobby for me to do that Logan can't mess up! Being a mother brings joy and challenges, as I have posted about before, and blogging creates a place to share my daily problems and triumphs. 3. It is a place for me to put my random thoughts and share my personal testimony. Although, it seems since Logan has been mobile it has been harder to set aside time to do so! I wanted to write my favorite post from this past

We saw Big Trucks!

Dear Dad, I just love coming to visit you at work! It was fun to see everybody today and go to the book sale. Mom bought me some fun board books. Mom and I will have to come again when we can stay for lunch and go to J Dawgs. As we were leaving we noticed they were working on the area across the street where they tore down the buildings. It was cool to see the big trucks working, just like in the book we read! They were really big and loud, I liked watching them. I have also decided that walking really is a more convenient way to get around, and although sometimes you and mom make fun of me looking like Frankenstein's monster with my arms out and everything, I really am getting pretty good. I can even stoop and recover. My favorite time of day is when you come home from work. I have so much fun playing and hanging out with you. I get so excited when I hear the door knob turning! I can't wait to see you tonight. I love you! Love, Logan

No

So, Logan is into everything and of course we are trying to keep him safe, and I am still trying to get things done with him around, and I guess he ends up hearing "no" more than he should. He has learned to say the word and when he goes toward something that is something he shouldn't touch, dishwasher, toilet, computer (he knows how to wake up the computer by either clicking on the mouse or hitting a key on the keyboard), etc. he will say "No", so I caught it on video today, and I must say it is pretty funny.

4th of July Sparkling Sky

Another 4th of July has come and gone. I think we are finished with our celebrations, although it makes me slightly sad. I really love it. The balloon festival , definitely a favorite of mine, and the only time all year I get up that early. We showed up around 6:00 am. That's early, but well worth it, because it really is neat how they blow up the balloons and shoot fire to get the air to heat up, and then they launch into the air. Logan also really enjoyed watching the balloons. Logan saying, "Hot"after seeing the fire. The parade . Of course extremely big in Josh's family. Josh and his dad spend months helping to plan the grand event and they spend the parade riding around in a golf cart supervising everything that goes on. I had Logan watch the whole thing start to finish and he did pretty well. Sitting still is not ever on his list of things to do. I love parades. His favorite new game that I play with him is putting things on his head and saying, "hat&

Let the 4th of July Festivities Begin!

Josh's family loves the 4th of July! I get so excited about all the activities that are associated with America's birthday and the Freedom Festival. On Saturday we went to the Children's parade. Although not usually on the family to-do list, it holds a special part of my heart after working at Adventure Time. It was also nice, because it was a little practice for Logan and a Parade, and he loved it! There are popsicles at the end of the parade and we had fun letting Logan try to eat one. We also went to the Patriotic service and Logan absolutely loved the big band music. When music starts to play he will wave his right hand with vigor as if he were leading the music. He lasted through part of Glen Beck's talk and then I left to put him to bed, but he made it quite awhile! Then this morning Logan and I went to see the Colonial Days opening parade, which was very sort, but fun nonetheless. There were bagpipes and they shot off a whole bunch of guns at the end, which was
