Growing Up

I know starting cereal really isn't that big of a deal, but I have a little top 5 list of why I am just a little bit sad that he started eating solid food on Sunday, 9/23/07.

5. Feeding milk only has a certain simplicity, especially nursing, he is easy to take places and it requires only light packing. Usually all I have to take is a diaper, wipes and a pacifier.

4. Suddenly I am not the only one that can feed him. It is nice to be able to share this part of Logan's life with others, particularly Josh, but it was kind of special that he needed me.

3. Josh said I couldn't say this real reason, but I'll just say we will be going through a lot more wipes :(

2. I am now faced with what foods do I feed him? Books say all different things, and I want to start him out on the right foot, but how do I do that? I want him to eat healthy and have good habits, and it starts young. I didn't have to worry about that before.

And the number one reason is . . .

1. He is growing up too fast! I have been around kids long enough to know they grow fast, but it is more obvious with my own little one. He is constantly changing and becoming more and more independent, and while I am excited part of me loves taking care of every need.

He is so adorable. I hear you on the growing up too fast. Just wait until they start pre-school! :) That smile at the end was priceless.

Sarah loved your little movie (and I did too). She kept saying, "Mommy, baby Logan's eating his mush! He's having fun!" I totally empathize with the growing up blues. The thing that matters is that you love Logan and that you're a great mother. I'm sure he knows how hard you're trying to give him what's best.

Oh, its a milestone! I remember feeling that way with Maggie, too. Feeding food takes so much longer--nursing is just so much simpler. And now, I've started giving Maggie cows milk this week. And I only nurse her in the morning and thats about to end...oh! babies grow up! CRUEL WORLD!

That's the first time I have seen a kid eats his first cereal and actually laugh while eating!

I read your list of 5 reasons and thought to myself that I had those same exact feelings this week. Can I copy this post and put it on my blog? Lol I'd love any ideas/tips on how to go about this whole "I eat big people food now." We should talk soon! PS the video was adorable!

A Couple of Updates

I haven't been very involved in the online world very much in the recent months. I haven't been feeling very well. I had mostly rejoined the feeling-better society and getting excited for the ultrasound which we had yesterday on January 15th. Yes, I am Pregnant!!! 20 weeks to be exact and I had gone to 4 doctors appointments and heard the heartbeat several times. Josh and I went to the ultrasound anxious to find out the gender, because we are planners of course. I got situated and the person doing the ultrasound put the wand on my belly and I looked up at the monitor and saw two circles. (I wish we had a picture of that, but we don't have that exact one) In my mind I said, "that is two heads." She said, "Oh, did you guys know you were having twins?" Josh turned, because he had not seen the two heads on the monitor yet and said, "Uh, no". And she said, "Well, you are!" Surprise. A few moments later we found out it was two girls. Wowza....

100th Post!

And Josh and I have been married for 4 years, Wahoo! I am so lucky to have Josh! He is strong where I am weak and somehow manages to make everything right whenever he's around. Most of all what I love having in him is a best friend. He watches my silly shows with me and makes me feel like the coolest girl around. In case you don't know how we met . . . be sure to always attend institute, and choir while you're at it. Josh joined the Orem Institute choir for the summer with a couple of his buddies, mostly to meet some women :) Well, Josh wasn't so lucky, but his friend was and ended up getting married, where Josh was the best man. I came to the wedding reception (I knew Emily from LD Singers, a choir through the Ephraim Institute) . . . and later Josh hinted that he wouldn't mind being set up on a date with me. 11 months later Josh and I were married! Thanks Jon and Emily!

3 Years

Here we are. The girls are 3 years old and I can hardly believe it. That is the crazy thing about being a mom. Seeing these ladies grow day by day makes it hard to tell how big they are. Whenever I happen to see a picture of them one or two years ago, I am blown away and how much they can do now, compared to before. I tend to focus on all the things they are getting into and how often they are fighting and not-so-much on the positives, but these ladies are truly amazing. I fill my pinterest quote board with sayings I find about "babies don't keep" and "sticky floors mean good experiences" and the like to keep my sanity semi-in-check. (It comes and goes) Truly sisters do make the best friends and I hope these ladies remain best friends the rest of eternity. They are so blessed to have each other.  When they are actually getting along :) I think about how nice it must be to have a constant playmate. They get along with other friends, but they get to have ...
