For Mother's Day my grandma gave me a pamphlet by Lucile Johnson called Love that Never Ends Inspirational Thoughts for Mothers. I have been reading it (only 3 months later, reading gets put at the end of my "to do" list) and after Vhari and I were talking about motherhood again today, it made me think. I found a paragraph that I thought was particularly helpful.
You were sent here into your mothering role and given the awesome responsibility for the physical, emotional, and spiritual welfare of your children without any experience or expertise. Why do you suppose that Heavenly Father has so decreed that we become parents without any previous experience? I think it is because He wants us to be on our knees where we need to be, seeking Him, pleading for patience and forbearance and understanding.
Lately, I have been feeling that I need to focus more on having the Spirit. My life hasn't seen any major bumps or bruises recently. I forget to rely on the Lord, even for simple things like my day to day mothering and experiences, when everything is going seemingly well.

Things have been rough and Cammon gave me a blessing the other day that specifically told me to stop neglecting to rely on the Lord.
This is a helpful reminder of that commandment I was given.
