Here's Hoping . . .

We are going to Disneyland in just about a month, and I am wondering if Logan will grow 3/4 of an inch, because this sweet thing measured in at 39 1/4 inches (and 36.6 lbs) today at the doctor and Splash Mountain is only 3/4 of an inch away. Grow buddy, grow.

Happy Birthday Logan!

Woohoo! Today Logan turns 2! And over the weekend my Grandma Wickham made him a rockin' cake.

Fish, Fish, Fish

Last weekend when my family was down, we were also able to go to the Aquarium in Sandy. Logan liked looking at all the fish, and it was nice, because they have it designed so little kids can see all the exhibits. He loves doing things by himself these days. There was a place to touch some sting rays. I touched one of course, but Logan's arms were too short to reach all the way down. I don't think he minded though, because I let him play in the water for quite awhile.

I'll Go Inside Someday

We went to the Draper Temple open house on Friday morning, and on Thursday I was telling Logan that my family was coming and we were going to see the temple. I said, "Logan do you want to see the inside of the temple?" He stood there for a minute and then he sang, " I'll go inside someday, to feel the spirit, to listen and to pray. For the temple is a house of God, a place of love and beauty . . . " I started laughing. Good connection buddy, I guess someday turned out to be Friday, not exactly what the song is implying, but going inside anyway. I loved going through the temple. The entire thing is gorgeous. It is a reminder about how sacred temples are and all the details that go into making such a special house of the Lord. Logan did pretty well, it is quite a journey for a toddler, and I hope that he was able to feel how important the temple is and make some kind of a connection between going to the temple open house and the songs he sings in Nursery. It wa...

Yes, I know Heavenly Father Loves Me

Whenever I hear the song of a bird Or look at the blue, blue sky, Whenever I feel the rain on my face Or the wind as it rushes by, Whenever I touch a velvet rose Or walk by a lilac tree, I’m glad that I live in this beautiful world Heavenly Father created for me. He gave me my eyes that I might see The color of butterfly wings. He gave my ears that I might hear The magical sound of things. He gave me my life, mind, my heart; I thank Him rev’rently For all his creations, of which I’m a part. Yes, I know Heavenly Father loves me. Wise Counsel from our Previous Prophet

I had the wonderful opportunity of hearing Sheri Dew speak in our stake last week. The talk was great and when she was finished everyone was left wanting to hear more. She mentioned this talk by President Hinckley, and after reading through it, I thought I would post it to share. (I posted the second half of the talk, but I also posted a link at the bottom if you would rather read the whole talk on lds.org). The gospel is true and I am lucky to be a part of it. To the Boys and to the Men Gordon B. Hinckley, “To the Boys and to the Men,” Ensign , Nov 1998, 51 I am suggesting that the time has come to get our houses in order. My brethren, it is a tremendous opportunity and an awesome responsibility to speak to you. . . . Now, brethren, I should like to talk to the older men, hoping that there will be some lesson for the younger men as well. I wish to speak to you about temporal matters. As a backdrop for what I wish to say, I read to you a f...

Yes, It's true, We Love Food.

Josh and I love food. We love to eat it, and luckily we love cooking it together and trying new things. We especially love Chinese food, Indian food, and Thai food. Recently Josh bought me an Indian cookbook and another Asian cookbook for Valentine's day. So, on Saturday we ventured to Many Lands and bought some things to help us cook some yummy food at home. On Sunday night we cooked and Logan did relatively well being patient while we did so. The results were so good I might not crave Bombay House so often. Chicken Roganjosh Curry, Cucumber Yogurt Dip (Raita), and Paratha (flaky flatbread) We also made a drink, which didn't turn out so well, but we all tried it, even Logan. He liked the bread, but he only had yogurt sauce on rice, the chicken was too spicy. Someday Logan, someday.
