Just a Glimpse

Because Josh reminded me that I really am gonna miss this. "This" being twin toddlers and a 4 year old. Sometimes in the moment it is hard to realize that someday the girls will clean up after themselves and not be so outwardly needy. This Logan preschool thing has helped me see that my children can and will have a life outside of me. He is learning and growing and I am not involved in every second of it. And that is ok, hard sometimes, but ok. And so too, the girls will reach that point, but right now I happen to be an important part of the busy world they run around in. I want to start paying attention to what is happening instead of all the things I am not getting done. Because raising babies is time-consuming stuff.
  • Tessa spends a lot of time holding her baby and bringing the blanket over to me so she can wrap him up. Then she says, "Shh, shh, shh." while she rocks him.
  • Eden loves the story of the three little bears and will bring the book over, say "bears" and back-up to sit in my lap to listen to the story, saying "mmm" on the page that says that. Both girls love to read books, although Tessa sometimes "tosses" the book a bit hard indicating she would like to have it read.
  • Dressing the girls each day is pretty much always my decision, which is fun, and they both still love trying on clothes and shoes.
  • Singing songs is a nightly family ritual before the girls go to bed. Both girls do the actions to "Once there was a snowman" and "Eency weency spider" and it is pretty darn cute.
  • Logan says pretty funny things quite often. I need to start carrying a notepad around to jot them down as he says them, because I always forget.
  • While the girls are obviously not into cooperative play yet, they do play well together for the most part, I even put Logan and myself in the gate yesterday and we built with legos while the girls played with the pretend kitchen.
  • Sometimes we go outside to watch for Josh to come home. The girls both start yelling, "Dad!" and "Dad-dy!" when they see him coming.
  • my girls and Mr. Logan are pretty-good sleepers. They all go to bed fairly easily and early, which is awesome.
  • I am going to finish the 2nd consecutive book before we meet for book-club!

Perhaps the one of the best things of all is that Logan is planning on becoming a chef and opening his own restaurant. Quite possibly the best thing imaginable. The mother of a chef? Yes, please. He even told Josh one day that he could come work in his restaurant. The other day at lunch Logan asked for a camera and took this picture . . .

a portion of his lunch. Applesauce with a bit of cinnamon and sugar, alongside a gogurt. Perhaps you may also visit his restaurant one day. I believe it is going to be his version of American classics. Macaroni and cheese most definitely will be served.

Logan and I were talking about his restaurant the other day! He told me I can be the assistant manager while he is the owner! Owning my own restaurant has always been my dream, and I most certainly hope that my nephew can be the head chef! Love the pictures and Miss Tessa is definitely your "mini me." Love you!

I love that Logan wanted the camera to take a picture of his meal. That's hilarious.

You are adorable! No wonder your children are adorable! Your thoughts help motivate me to be a better mom, I too need to remember the simple and important things!

How fun! I love what the twins are doing and how they're growing. Pretend play is one of the funniest and funnest things to watch with toddlers. Way to be a future chef, Logan! My seven year old son is always making things for me to eat too. The latest is saltine and/or Ritz crackers with melted string cheese on top. It's quite tasty.

Thanks for the updates on your kids. I love reading about your family. I love the dreams of children. A chef is a great way of saying Mom I want to be just like you. I love it! Keep up the great work. You are a fabulous Mom!!!!

Great blog Tiff! I know how you feel about the way life with kids go fast. They'll all be in school before you know it. This year I have all my kids in some kind of school/preschool and it's weird. It is important to record life with your little ones. Anyway, loved reading this. And I will definitely come eat at Logan's restaurant someday. :D

I think grandpa was hoping Logan would do something with tools like the photo you posted before, but he still has a while to decide what to do when he grows up. The girls are getting super fun and intelligent also.

A Couple of Updates

I haven't been very involved in the online world very much in the recent months. I haven't been feeling very well. I had mostly rejoined the feeling-better society and getting excited for the ultrasound which we had yesterday on January 15th. Yes, I am Pregnant!!! 20 weeks to be exact and I had gone to 4 doctors appointments and heard the heartbeat several times. Josh and I went to the ultrasound anxious to find out the gender, because we are planners of course. I got situated and the person doing the ultrasound put the wand on my belly and I looked up at the monitor and saw two circles. (I wish we had a picture of that, but we don't have that exact one) In my mind I said, "that is two heads." She said, "Oh, did you guys know you were having twins?" Josh turned, because he had not seen the two heads on the monitor yet and said, "Uh, no". And she said, "Well, you are!" Surprise. A few moments later we found out it was two girls. Wowza.

100th Post!

And Josh and I have been married for 4 years, Wahoo! I am so lucky to have Josh! He is strong where I am weak and somehow manages to make everything right whenever he's around. Most of all what I love having in him is a best friend. He watches my silly shows with me and makes me feel like the coolest girl around. In case you don't know how we met . . . be sure to always attend institute, and choir while you're at it. Josh joined the Orem Institute choir for the summer with a couple of his buddies, mostly to meet some women :) Well, Josh wasn't so lucky, but his friend was and ended up getting married, where Josh was the best man. I came to the wedding reception (I knew Emily from LD Singers, a choir through the Ephraim Institute) . . . and later Josh hinted that he wouldn't mind being set up on a date with me. 11 months later Josh and I were married! Thanks Jon and Emily!

Josh Had a Birthday, Shout Hooray!

I am so lucky to have these two guys in my life! I hope you had a good birthday yesterday, Josh!
