For the past, oh . . . year and a half :) we don't venture out as frequently as I did when I just had Mr. Logan, but the girls (and I) transitioned to one nap about a month or so ago, which leaves us a bit more time to do things, if those things include the kids, things that require my 100% or at least 80% are still not getting done very often:). The biggest change is going to be revolving around school for the first time in years. Mr. Logan starts preschool next week! He was able to meet his teacher and see his classroom this week and he (and I) are very excited! I told him I want to go to school with him, but I can't. I miss working with kids and all this preschool visiting has made me miss it all the more, but Logan will have a great time! He is into taking things apart. Celebrating Logan's birthday is almost as fun as celebrating my own and I love that we get to keep celebrating it this weekend. Logan picked out the girls shirts. And we took him to breakfast. Our little family of 5, it was the first time we have gone out by ourselves, it only took 10 months! These are some recent pictures of Mr. Logan. Tracing his Letters This past year has been a little tough, what with birthing and raising the girls and Logan has been with me every step of the way. Some days I have been tired and grumpy and just plain busy from trying to keep our house running and taking care of the needs of the family. Logan ends up getting the brunt of my grumpiness, which I feel guilty about. We have been playing a game where we use the sheet above and we think of a word for every letter of the alphabet and I write it down. At the end of January Logan turned 22 months. And it is so hard to believe our little guy is almost 2. He is very busy all the time, and I must admit that communication has made our lives so much better. He loves to line things up, and I find him doing it all over the house with pretty much everything. He likes to read books, he will always say, "How about . . . this one" and "One more". It is amazing that I can read longer books and he doesn't always try to turn pages before I have read the whole page, although, I have to be careful where I put my finger when I am holding the book, because if it is covering up even the tiniest bit of a picture he will move it for me. And for a little while he has even been sitting at the table on a chair, on a phonebook, but no more high chair. He just grows to fast to keep up with. He did this by himself. Every now and then it feels good to give yourself a little hug. I have been a bit busy lately, but this is too funny not to post. When I realized what he was doing I just started laughing. In the video he first says, "light" and then I think he says "shut" when he wants to turn it off, and then he says "hug".

He even loves the riding in the Geo {yes the Geo I have had since I was 16}, I am pretty sure he thinks it is a manly car, because he sees Josh drive it around. Throughout the day he will walk over to the door and say, "Dad?"

Logan and I were walking hand in hand across the parking lot to the dumpster and he tripped and fell. I picked him up and watched a huge goose-egg form on his forehead. It broke my heart to see it. I felt so bad I sent Josh a picture on his phone right after it happened. I think it is the preschool teacher in me that feels like I have to document every owie he gets or at least share it with someone else! It happened on Tuesday, and is now just a yellowish spot, but these past few days everyone keeps asking where he got the bump on his head. I had heard of scrapblog and when Chrissy posted something she made I thought I would give it a try. It is my first attempt at digital scrapbooking at all, and I haven't done a lot of traditional scrapbooking in the last 5 years, so it is just for fun.

It seems the older Logan gets the more complex he is! He is growing and learning in so many ways, I can't even keep track and my little lists don't seem quite comprehensive enough. I guess the best description of Logan now is he is his own little person. Through the course of the day he is happy at times and frustrated at times, just like anyone. He is doing some funny things though . . . He is obsessed with where things belong. I had a rolled up piece of material on the table for awhile, because I hadn't put it away. One day I put it in our bedroom. Well, Logan found it later that day in our bedroom and carried in into the kitchen and put it on the table. Apparently it sat too long on the table, and that became its permanent home. His memory is getting so much better. It could be that I have just noticed it lately, but he remembers a lot of things, especially about what we read in his books. We like to read Corduroy sometimes, and when Corduroy tries to pull of the button ...

Logan a couple of cousins that are just younger than him. He loves to give them hugs and kisses every time we go visit. He also loves to say "Baby". This last weekend we all got together and took pictures of the three little ones. He doesn't look particularly pleased, but it is my best picture of all three. Chrissy also posted about her fun little baby-sitting experience of Logan , you can check him out playing the piano and smiling at his cousin.

Too cute for words. Logan loves to find his construction hat and wear it around the house. Logan has always had this fascination with stacking things and he usually stacks all his dishes when he is finished eating. One night during dinner we looked over and this was his creation. When people ask how old Logan is, I have started saying 17 months recently, because he turns 17 months on Saturday. 17 months. That seems so old. He is changing so quickly. Lately . . . . . . *He knocks on doors and things with his whole fist. He especially loves to shut a door and knock, and then wait for you to knock back. He will wait for a surprisingly long time. He also loves knocking on the bathroom door while people are in there, I think Josh taught him that one. *He loves to play with anything and everything that isn't a toy. He especially loves kitchen utensils. He empties the drawers he can reach all the time. Lately he has been finding Josh's ipod and of course continuing to wake up the computer by pressing the keyboard or mouse. He will even wiggle the mouse around. *He is discovering what his body can do. He will sit on the floor and slowly lay himself down over and over and over again. He also loves to lay himself down in the bathtub. *He mimics everything we do....

Dear Dad, I just love coming to visit you at work! It was fun to see everybody today and go to the book sale. Mom bought me some fun board books. Mom and I will have to come again when we can stay for lunch and go to J Dawgs. As we were leaving we noticed they were working on the area across the street where they tore down the buildings. It was cool to see the big trucks working, just like in the book we read! They were really big and loud, I liked watching them. I have also decided that walking really is a more convenient way to get around, and although sometimes you and mom make fun of me looking like Frankenstein's monster with my arms out and everything, I really am getting pretty good. I can even stoop and recover. My favorite time of day is when you come home from work. I have so much fun playing and hanging out with you. I get so excited when I hear the door knob turning! So, Logan is into everything and of course we are trying to keep him safe, and I am still trying to get things done with him around, and I guess he ends up hearing "no" more than he should. He has learned to say the word and when he goes toward something that is something he shouldn't touch, dishwasher, toilet, computer (he knows how to wake up the computer by either clicking on the mouse or hitting a key on the keyboard), etc. he will say "No", so I caught it on video today, and I must say it is pretty funny.

We visited Logan (the city) this weekend to help my sister move. (We managed to sneak in some Tiny Spicy Chicken and a quick trip to the creamery!) Logan (the child) played in the pack-n-play for awhile while we were moving things, but eventually decided he was done. Luckily Chrissy had a little water table that I had seen as things were being unloaded from the truck. I filled it up with water and let Logan go to town. He got his clothes soaking wet, but he had so much fun. It kept him busy for a really long time. Logan loves the water. We went swimming on Thursday and he played in the pool for two hours straight. He didn't even mind getting sprayed or squirted in the face from various pool toys and things. Logan was able to meet his cousin Akasha for the first time. He was also able to see his other cousins Katelyn and Peyton. He wanted to hug the babies over and over again. He loves other kids!

Logan always wants whatever we have when we are eating or getting ready to eat, even when he doesn't know what it is. He will put out his hand and say "Uh, uh, uh, uh". So I had a can of Fresca soda and I poured a little in a cup and let him have a sip. His reaction is hilarious! Although, I am not going to make a habit of giving my one year old soda pop. (His favorite word to say is "Hi", he says it in the movie) When I need a few minutes where Logan is slightly confined I will stick him in the walker. The other day I went to put something away and I came back and he decided he was going to try to get out himself! He had one leg all the way out. He thought he was pretty funny!

We are just loving the summer. Logan especially loves to be outside and will crawl to the front door and stand up and grab the door knob! He was able to play with his cousins over the weekend at a park and his grandparents this week. He never sits still, not even for a second. Also, over the weekend he took two steps, not to his mother or father mind you, but to his cousins! Josh and I have been trying to have him walk to us for weeks with no real progress. His cousin Ashley puts out her hands and he takes two steps on his own to her! Then yesterday when my parents were here we were all trying to get him to walk and he started taking a few steps at a time. The most he took was 10! He is on the way to full walking status. I know walking just means getting into more things, but I am ready to not have to carry him around everywhere. He is starting to be quite the chunker! And I think he may qualify for tallest child that can't walk. We go around town and these little, tiny, pe...

It has been awhile since I did a little Logan update. He is doing well, just really busy and doesn't have a lot of time to sit for pictures like he used to. He turned 14 months old last week. I've got a little list of his latest: {1} He head is starting to look pretty banged up with scrapes and bruises. He is becoming quite the little walker-along-furniture, but often misjudges and bumps it on the way down. {2} He stands alone, but plays this game where we say ready, set, go and he stands alone for a few seconds and then purposely falls. {3} He loves to hum! When his toys make music we will find him humming along. He is destined to be a wonderful musician. {4} He loves to lay his head down on blankets and pillows whenever he sees them. {5} He is starting to use a spoon and fork, although sometimes he actually puts the piece of food on the spoon or fork, he is getting fairly good. {6} He has seven teeth, and I think molars are coming really soon, the backs of his gums are p...
