Oh, What did We do in the Autumn Time?

The past couple of months has just flown by! Things have been pretty busy or maybe just steady, as I have realized life with a toddler always is. Fall is my favorite season, I just love everything about it. Here's a couple Highlights: -We went to Hogle Zoo and Famous Dave's (yum, yum, Josh's favorite!) -We also took pictures at Utah State, went to the USU Homecoming Parade, and the North Logan Pumpkin Walk when we were up in Logan for Katelyn's 1st birthday party. -Logan got to go trick-or-treating with his cousins, which he loved! We just couldn't resist! The pumpkin walk is always fun, and this was my favorite exhibit. It was a fishing scene including a lake and waterfall made out of pumpkins. I was able to go to another Early Childhood Conference. This conference was at Salt Lake Community College and Roscoe Orman was the keynote speaker. He talked a lot about the history of Sesame Street and he also said, "You have to imagine something, before you can acco...

Logan just loves Babies

Logan a couple of cousins that are just younger than him. He loves to give them hugs and kisses every time we go visit. He also loves to say "Baby". This last weekend we all got together and took pictures of the three little ones. He doesn't look particularly pleased, but it is my best picture of all three. Chrissy also posted about her fun little baby-sitting experience of Logan , you can check him out playing the piano and smiling at his cousin.

Yum . . . Grilled Fish

On my birthday Josh grills fish for me, even though he doesn't like seafood! He even went online and found a great Marinade and prepared it the night before, what a great guy! On Friday Josh planned a fabulous dinner with his family for me which included my favorite things. Grilled fish, a shrimp cocktail, strawberries, pineapple, tossed salad, and angel food cake! The funny thing is no one likes fish in their family but me (and Macquel, my niece, together we enjoyed the shrimp!). On my birthday is the only time I don't feel bad asking for fish. There were also hamburgers for the non-fish lovers. I had a great birthday! I got to go to the park with Logan and Josh took me to lunch and shopping, also what a great guy to endure me trying on clothes! I got my haircut a couple of weeks ago, and I haven't taken very many pictures of it, so this is one is pretty good of the back :) Macquel, Beth, and Ashley having fun with my camera. In the morning Josh gave me this sustain pe...

Grandpa

My grandma passed away last August . My grandpa passed away on this past Friday, May 16, 2008 and I can't help but think of the song "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds: And where was I before the day That I first saw your lovely face? Now I see it everyday And in a white sea of eyes I see one pair that I recognize Next door there's an old man who lived to his nineties And one day passed away in his sleep And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days Then passed away I'm sorry I know that's a strange way to tell you That I know we belong And I know I am, I am the luckiest It wasn't a couple of days, but it was 9 months, almost to the day. I miss them both very much.

Forget-Me-Not

My grandma Wood passed away back in August . She was a very practical and thoughtful person. For my baby shower she sent my mom with her gift. It was this pack of onesies. They are plain white and very useful. They are just the size for Logan to start wearing and especially nice for the winter, because I like to put him in layers. The only problem is that they were the last gift I will ever get from my grandma Wood, so part of me wants to keep them in the package forever. I know my grandma would tell me that was silly and say, "all right all ready! Just open the package and let him get good use out of them." So I think I will, open them that is . . . in a few days. The summer I came home from Snow College I told my grandma I wanted her to teach me to do counted cross stitch. My grandma was very good with her hands. She sewed, cross stitched, and knitted just to name a few of her skills. So that summer in 2003 she thought it would be good for me to start with a s...

A Different Point of View

I have some fun pictures to post, but I haven't had time to yet. We have some friends that have posted a couple of our recent adventures. Our trip to Hogle Zoo with Russ, Vhari, and Genevieve and my sister's travelogue of the trip to Logan.

Keith Urban

On 9/11/07 I went to the Keith Urban concert at the Energy Solutions Arena. Michelle got the tickets about six months ago, before Logan was born. I hadn't left him for longer than about 2 hours, so I was a little nervous. I went to the concert and had a really good time. It was nice, because being away from Logan made me realize how much I really do love being a mother. At the same time I need to remember to take some time to do things for myself, and have fun! This is Beth, Jana, Michelle and I at the concert. It was a fun little DeWitt sister outing.

Remember and Cherish Always

Logan's great-grandma Wood passed away on 8/10/07, almost 2 weeks ago. It is interesting, because she died suddenly. She was 83 and had heart problems in the past, but she didn't have any real problems at the time. She was reading a good book and just passed away. The nice thing is she didn't have any major suffering or stay in the hospital. The other thing I am so grateful for is, about two months ago we took Logan to visit family in Logan and I was able to take these two great pictures with his great-grandma Wood. The picture above is just so special to me, because Logan was smiling while my grandma was talking and Josh snapped the picture at just the perfect time. I will always remember my last time and Logan's first and last time to see my grandma Wood.
