Josh, Tiffany & Co.

We decided our family loves September. Logan gets to go to preschool, Josh is practically giddy about football, I love all the tasty produce and of course, sweatshirt/actually-being-able-to-go-outside-in-the-afternoon weather, and the girls just love life in general. September is pretty awesome for us. 1st day of preschool. We both took him, while grandma watched the girls. He wanted a picture with me ;) As crazy as I am, I let the ladies delve into the rice they have seen played with so many times. Tessa does pretty well . . . Eden is still learning to keep it in the table. but it allowed me to make this . . . Saag Aloo. Thanks to Janice I had a spice blend that made it fairly simple, and Josh said with a little hot-ness (it was mild, I'm new at this!) It would be even better. Who knew spinach could taste so good?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The weather has been really nice outside lately. Our apartment complex has a little sandbox/swingset area and I have taken Logan out to play several times. I realize he is really young, but he loves it! (And honestly so do I! I miss playing with kids everyday.) He even cried one day when I started to leave the sandbox. He spends most of his time watching the other children (as the first two pictures show him looking in the distance). He likes to see what they are up to, and spends some of the time actually paying attention to what he is playing himself. I help him fill-up buckets and make sandcastles . We also fill up dump trucks and dump them out again. Logan likes to put him hands in the sand and take handfuls from one place to another. We both end up dirty and every time I have swept since I started taking him in the sandbox I still end up with sand in the dustpan.

Logan is getting around pretty well now. He isn't traditionally crawling, but he scoots backwards, rolls around, and pivots. All these techniques combined allow him to go wherever he wants around the apartment. His favorite spots are shelves, drawers, and anything else that looks mischievous. His loves to find hidden things. I put random things in a box and let him take the items out one by one. He also loves to unload his board books from the bottom shelf. I put them back on and he does it again. In the book I have been reading, it suggested putting items in a drawer in the kitchen and it has been the best thing! Logan is entertained for a long time, while I am in the kitchen. I put in everything that he can play with (those cookie cutters are the perfect thing!). He takes them all out and makes piles on the floor. I put them back in and he begins again.

When Josh opened the door to leave for work we noticed that it was quite the winter wonderland outside! This afternoon I thought it would be fun to bundle Logan up and experience the snow for the first time. It has snowed before, he had just never had any close-up experiences with it yet. He was wearing three layers, so I was sure he wouldn't get cold. He really seemed to like it. He couldn't move, because he was so bundled up, but I laid him on top of a vinyl table cloth on top of the snow. You can't really see, but it looks like he teeth on the top are about to come through any second. I can almost see the corners, but Logan almost never lets me look.

For some reason New Year's was a hard holiday for me. I think it is because it is the end of the holiday season and signifies returning to normal life. I was having a hard time with goals because I have been feeling lately that I am not doing enough or that I am not doing good enough at what I am doing. I was reminded yesterday that we can't do it on our own. Through the Savior is the only way I will ever be perfect, I have to constantly be reminded of that. Every day may not go exactly as I have planned, but as long as I continue to do better and learn from my experiences I don't need to worry. So far I have only decided on one goal and that is to be more organized. I am not going to worry about each detail, I am just going to focus on organizing little by little and enjoying the moment, especially with Logan, because he grows so quickly.
